Private sector transportation subcontractors of the Municipality of Erzurum now enable passengers to use the Smart Ticket in their buses thanks to a cooperation with the Municipality.
Having adopted the Smart Ticket technology on January 1, 2008, said buses have now been equipped with a passenger counting device, a central control system and an optimization system to increase the level of their service quality. Said buses have also been equipped with GPS and GPRS devices to transmit their route positions, occupancy ratio, number of passengers who get on at every stop, and working hours of their drivers to the control center’s optimization system to increase their profitability.
Local people of Erzurum are now able to enjoy fare discounts at change points, return trip discount, student discount and extra bonus campaigns, and to commute within the city much easier.
